Left Behind

When we put our house up for sale in Texas I went through the house and depersonalized it.  I took all the family photos off the walls, put away all the little nick-nacky things, and even cleaned up my sewing room, but I did not take down the quilts that were on the walls.  I should have.  After about two months we had a couple come through the house and they fell in love with the house and one of the quilts I had left up in my stairwell.  It is a postage stamp quilt I had made about fifteen years ago.  I embellished it with applique and it was very eye catching and pleasant to look at. stayed with the house.  And even though they paid for it I felt like I was leaving behind the family pet.  So......if you are selling your house make sure you only leave up the quilts you don't mind leaving behind.

  1. Oh...but maybe that was what sold the house! ;o)
