Moda's Sonnet Collection - Three Quilts - Done!

 Quilt #1
 Quilt #2
 Quilt #3

 Leftovers-all bottled up.
I bought Moda's Sonnet Collection years ago.  I made a churn dash quilt with most of it, Quilt #1.  I pieced a table runner using my sister's 'Quick Curve Ruler' which I love, Quilt #2.  After those two quilts I still had quite a bunch of fabric left, everything from fat quarter pieces, to strips, and charm pieces, so I decided to make crazy patches that I then squared up, or rectangled up, and then pieced them into a crazy patch quilt.  I think this will be 'Prairie' Quilt #3, but I do not have a name yet.  I am considering "Above the Prairie" because it looks like roads with planted fields or "Bird's Eye View".  Suggestions anyone?

My Sister's Giveaway

My sister, Jenny, is doing a fantastic give away.  It is a small quilt of her own design with a specialty ruler she is creating that makes piecing curves super easy.  I know because I got to try it out and I am very impressed!  Go to her blog http://sewkindofwonderful.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-first-giveaway.html?showComment=1301538428173#c4315544267485954675 and leave a comment for one chance to win.  Then become a follower for another chance to win.  And blog about it on your own blog and tell her for a third chance to win.  Good Luck!

Debi's Twister

Debi pieced this great 'Twister' quilt.  I love the bright reds, blues, and yellows she used.  I quilted it using the panto 'Popcorn' and bright yellow thread.  I also attached the binding while it was on the long-arm.  It turned out great and she is donating it to charity.

Zig Zag Quilt

For Christmas, Jenny gave me a half yard of thirteen modern fabrics.
She had made a zig zag quilt last year, so I thought this would be a great pattern for the fabric she gave me.
I decided to add both saffron yellow and charcoal gray as my solids.
It is large enough to go on my king size bed.
I am contemplating adding a six inch solid white border all around so that I could also use it as a bedspread if I wanted to.
It was fun to make and I am also including some pictures of the process.
PIECING TIP:  use flat head pins and write the row or column number on them to keep your rows organized during piecing or moving blocks from one location to another.

Prairie Windows #2

I had some leftover blocks from my 'Prairie Windows' quilt and they just needed to be made into something easy and cute.
I love the extra wide border.
It helps to maintain a modern feel to the blocks just like framing a small print with a large mat does.

Wizard of Oz

This is Debi's quilt.  The quilting creates a 'yellow brick road' for the characters to follow and it is filled in with plants and trees.  The back is easier to distinguish than the front.  She really liked the quilting.
