What to do? I am not a design star....
We took the furniture from our old house in Utah and put it in our Texas house and it just doesn't look right. Something needs to change and I am not sure what. Suggestions? I am considering painting the coffee table and large chest an off white and then a stain over it. Thoughts?

I do like the idea of painting those pieces white. What about painting the kitchen Table and chairs along with different fabric for the seats? It seems like your T.V. is to small for that area or it's to low. There is a lot of wall above it? Do you like the color till...that would be a fun accent color. Are the curtains new? You could change those up? Maybe...not a sheer curtain, then you could raise the curtain rod make a longer curtain...that would help fill in the space above the windows. I like your grouping above your fireplace! You could paint your bar stools too. Okay that all I can think of for now. I love your house. I would die to have all that crown molding! And those tall ceilings are awesome!! And I like the brick a lot! Your piano looks good because it matches the appliances in your kitchen. I'll keep thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could give you some ideas but I think its fine. Your home is inviting and I love your creativity. I love fireplaces and I wish yours was the focal point of the room. I loved sitting in front of your fireplace in Heber. I need to create a blog. I can see where this has been so much fun for you girls.
ReplyDeletei think you need a big something over the tv.. that wall is big and empty. i like the paint the coffee table idea. and dads ugly chair is a sore spot, but that isnt going anywhere anytime soon.
